Seeking Healthy Control Participants for a Research Study on Motor Unit Behavior

Av Zhihao Duan Skapad: 2025-03-11

We are recruiting healthy control participants for a study on motor unit behavior in individuals with incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI). This research aims to improve our understanding of muscle coordination and contribute to future rehabilitation strategies.

Eligibility Criteria:
✅ Age: 40–75 years
✅ No known neurological disorders
✅ No pain or injuries in the lower limbs in the past 6 months

Participation
In this study, participants will be involved in a data collection session, which takes approx. 1-hour. During the data collection, muscle activity using high-density electromyography and ankle joint torque will be recorded. During the experiment, the participant will be asked to perform ankle dorsi and plantar flexion (isometric contraction) according to the instructions provided on the computer screen. All measurements are non-invasive and pain-free. The measurements will be performed at the KTH Promobilia MoveAbility Lab (Osquars Backe 18, 10044 Stockholm). Ethical approval was obtained by the Swedish Ethical Review Authority.

Your participation will be compensated with one gift card, valued at approx. 150 SEK.
