Hi! Thanks for your interest in taking part in our study!
My name is Ludwig Lundstedt, and I am a PhD student at the Brain, Body and Self Lab at Karolinska
Institutet
We are currently recruiting participants for a research study investigating how people experience
their own body. The study uses virtual reality to explore how vision and touch contribute to how we
perceive our own body.
I’ll briefly explain what participation involves. If you have any questions at all, feel free to
ask, I’m happy to help.
During the experiment, you will lie comfortably on a bed while wearing a pair of VR (virtual
reality) goggles. You will see a body in the VR-googles, and at the same time you will feel gentle
touches on your own body. The experiment consists of several short blocks and you will answer short
questions about your experiences.
The entire session takes about 40 minutes, including preparation. Participation is completely
voluntary, and you are free to withdraw at any time without giving a reason.
We are inviting healthy volunteers aged 18 to 50 to take part in this study,
Compensation is 200 SEK (taxable, requires a Swedish personal identity number) or a cinema ticket,
depending on your preference.
Before booking a time, I just need to check your eligibility using a few quick yes/no questions.
If you’re interested, let me know and I’ll send those over. I will then also send over more
detailed information about the study and about your role as research participant
Best,
Ludwig Lundstedt
Research Leader: Ludwig Lundstedt
Research Manager: Henrik Ehrsson.
FYI
The address is Solnavägen 9, Solna 17171 Stockholm. The building is Biomedicum. I will give you
more details when we agree on the time and date.
Thank you, I hope to see you soon! 🙂
