Breathing and visual perception

Denna studie är avslutad och tar ej emot flera anmälningar
Av Sylvia Edwards Skapad: 2023-02-20

Requirements:
Age between 18 and 45 years of age. Can easily breath through nose and mouth. No glasses, but contact lenses are okay if they are not bifocals. No nasal piercing.

Study Information:
During the experiment, you will be seated in a room while we simultaneously record breathing, pupil size, physiological, and behavioral data. Data will be collected during two individual experimental sessions, one hour for nose breathing and one hour for mouth breathing. During each session, behavioral data will be collected while you, as a participant, perform a task on a computer with self-paced breaks.

During the experiments, you will wear a disposable clinical oxygen mask with a thermometer attached, electrodes to measure your heart rate, and a finger pulse device. We will tape your mouth or nose (depending on which session) to aid you in using only one breathing route. This will allow us to continuously record respiratory-related airflow. None of these measurements are invasive or uncomfortable.

One experimental session will take roughly 90 minutes including preparations. Compensation will be received after each experimental session is concluded. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!
