Skapad: 2025-04-04
Duration: 150 minutes
Location: Blombäcks väg 23 (previously Retzius väg 13A) Social Perception Lab at Karolinska
Institutet (Campus Solna), Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Division of Psychology
Eligibility requirements: Normal or corrected-to-normal vision (glasses/contact lenses are fine), no
history of neurological or psychiatric disorders.
This is a behavioural study on how we perceive mental state of others. Your eye movements, facial
expressions, heart rate and skin conductance will be recorded while you perform a social cognition
task together with another participant. You are also welcome to participate with someone you
know.
Experiment description: While sitting opposite each other, one person will perform an attentional
task and their partner will try to “read” from their face, what the other is focusing on. After
a short break, you will switch roles so that both perform as the “attention task performer” and
the “reader.” We will measure your answers, reaction times, record eye movements, facial
expressions, heart rate and skin conductance response, using non-invasive equipment. At the end of
the experiment, you will fill out a few questionnaires.
