This research project investigates the way we perceive and recognise our body. For this purpose, we
are looking for participants to come to our laboratory and perform a perceptual experiment.
The task:
During the experiment you will wear a head-mounted display (virtual reality goggles). You will be
shown several rounds of images with changing colored patterns, in which a hand will sometimes
appear. After each round, you will be asked to answer a few questions about your experience.
-Where: Biomedicum, Karolinska Institutet, Solnavägen 9, 17171 Solna, Stockholm.
To take part you must:
Be aged 18-40
Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision
Have no current or prior history of psychiatric illness
Not currently be taking any psychoactive substances
Have full use of both hands
Understand and speak English
Have a Swedish personal number (personnummer) or coordination number (samordningsnummer), to
receive the compensation.
Impact:
The results from this project will help us understand how we recognise our body as part or
ourselves. This knowledge will give us insights into conditions where these processes are
affected.
After registering for the study you will receive the available time slots for booking and additional
information.
