WHAT?
This is a behavioural study investigating how we perceive the space immediately surrounding our body
(peripersonal space).
During the experiment, you will wear a virtual reality (VR) headset and lie comfortably on an
examination bed. You will see visual stimuli approaching a virtual body while gentle vibrations are
delivered to your own body. Your task will be to respond as quickly as possible to these
sensations.
The experiment includes several conditions and takes approximately one hour. Many participants find
the experience engaging and interesting.
WHO?
You should be between 18 and 50 years old, in good health, have no history of neurological or
psychiatric illness, not take related medication, and not have participated in similar experiments
before. Good understanding of English is required.
COMPENSATION?
You will receive 400 SEK (taxable), paid via Karolinska Institutet’s payroll office (usually on
the 25th of the third month after the study), or two cinema vouchers (tax-free).
WHEN?
After signing up, you will receive a link where you can fill in your availability and choose a
suitable time slot. You will also receive an automatic reminder one day before your session.
Please note that time slots are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
