Av Betty Gibbs Skapad: 2026-08-20

We are looking for participants for the paid research study on the perception of touch. The study consists of three experimental sessions (MRI brain scan, MEG brain scan, and behavioural experiment) done on separate days.

- Payment: 1075 SEK (taxable) or 9 cinema tickets
- What: An experiment investigating the perception of touch on your hand
- When: Many time slots to choose from
- Duration: 30 minutes (Session 1), 150 minutes (Session 2), and 120 minutes (Session 3)
- Where: Karolinska Institutet, Solna Campus

During the MRI session, we will obtain an image of your brain and measure your brain activity during rest. During the MEG and behavioural sessions, you will have to move your right hand while receiving weak forces on your left hand, and we will measure your brain activity (MEG session) and your perceptual responses (behavioural session).

To participate in the experiment, you must:
- be 18-40 years old
- have normal vision or corrected to normal with lenses or glasses
- understand basic English
- not have metal objects in or on your body
- not be pregnant
- not have claustrophobia (fear of small places)
- have no current or history of psychiatric or neurological conditions
- not take any psychoactive drugs or medication
- not have participated in our previous force experiments

After registering for the study you will receive the available time slots for booking and additional information.
