The neural mechanisms of body ownership and predictions

The study will take place over two separate sessions on two different days.
Day 1: Preparation and behavioural session (approximately 45–60 minutes)
During the first session, you will be introduced to the experimental setup and become familiar with the equipment. The study involves two robotic arms and a rubber hand. One robotic arm will gently touch the rubber hand, while the other will gently touch your own hand. You will then take part in a short experimental procedure involving this robotic stimulation. Afterwards, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire about your experience. This session will last approximately 45–60 minutes. For completing Day 1, you will receive a 150 SEK gift card or a cinema ticket.

Day 2: Experimental session with electroencephalography (EEG) (approximately 2.5–3 hours)
During the second session, you will perform the same experimental task as in the first session while we measure the electrical activity of your brain using EEG. You will be asked to wear a cap with electrodes on your head during the experiment. EEG is a safe and non-invasive technique that measures electrical activity using electrodes placed on the scalp. To obtain a good EEG signal, a small amount of conductive gel will be applied to your scalp through the electrodes. This may make your hair wet or leave some gel in your hair. After the experiment, you can wash your hair in the facilities provided. A large sink, as well as soap, towels and a hairdryer, will be available for you to use. For completing Day 2, you will receive 150 SEK per hour of participation, either as a gift card or in the form of a cinema ticket of equivalent value.
