For our research studies, we are in need of mucus from the reproduction system at the stage of
ovulation. That is a gel which is produced in the cervical canal that is connected to the vagina.
After sperm enters the vagina, it has to swim through the gel (cervical mucus) to enter the uterus.
Our new contraceptive is based on a reaction between the mucus in women and an applied natural
polymer that would block the sperm transport. To find the best conditions for our contraceptive and
study this important gel, we would need cervical mucus for tests. The sampling is free of pain and
simple, and will be at Karolinska University hospital, Huddinge.
Women that are interested in helping us, would need to fulfill the following requirements:
-age 18-35
-no medication
-no hormonal contraception
-no smoking
-regular menstruation (once a month)
